YouthBuild champions today’s opportunity youth who aspire to improve their lives and communities by building the skills and resources to reach their full potential. This program will help the students pursue their education, prepare for future careers, and grow into community leaders – building brighter futures for themselves, and their neighborhoods.

Students gain invaluable experience and expand their professional networks by working alongside local entrepreneurs and business leaders through the CareerSource Tampa Bay Summer Hires Program, facilitated by the CDC of Tampa. This program offers participants the opportunity to develop essential job skills, engage in hands-on projects, and receive mentorship from seasoned professionals in various industries. By immersing themselves in real-world business environments, students not only enhance their resumes but also gain insights into potential career paths and build relationships that can support their future endeavors.

Students will work towards earning certifications:

• Basic Life Support CPR/First Aide

• Teen Mental Health CPR

• Workplace Ethics

Students will participate in social and career enrichment field trips and classes will be led by various First Responders from Tampa Fire and Rescue, Hillsborough County Fire and Rescue, Hillsborough County Sherriff Department and Direction For Living Program Director.

The one-day conference is a unique and inspiring event designed specifically for girls to meet and interact with female leaders and role models from the community.

This empowering conference provides a platform for young women to engage in meaningful discussions on a wide range of topics, including leadership, career development, and entrepreneurship.

The Corporation to Develop Communities of Tampa (CDC of Tampa) continues to demonstrate its unwavering commitment to our community by hosting the East Tampa Partnership's employment training sessions, in collaboration with the City of Tampa, to kick off the summer working season for the youth in East Tampa.

These sessions are specifically designed to equip young people with the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in the job market.​​

The year-long program is specifically designed to assist high school students in achieving a path to self-sufficiency. It provides comprehensive support and resources to help students obtain their high school diplomas, pursue higher education or occupational training, and secure meaningful employment. This program offers a holistic approach, addressing both academic and career goals to ensure that participants are well-prepared for their futures.

This male leadership retreat harnesses the talents of minority community leaders, drawing on their personal and professional experiences to inspire and guide youth participants. The retreat aims to empower young men by providing them with role models who exemplify perseverance, persistence, and promise. Through engaging workshops, interactive discussions, and mentorship opportunities, the retreat enables these young participants to envision themselves stepping into leadership roles and embarking on a path of success and fulfillment.
